QB Tom Brady (finger) will play Friday despite being placed on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers injury report

Tampa, Fla. — Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was placed on the Bucs’ injury report Friday with a finger injury that has plagued him all week, though his status for Sunday’s game at the Green Bay Packers is not in jeopardy.

Brady has not suffered any backlash, a source said. He was in some apparent discomfort during parts of the proceedings open to the media this week, but he was included in the statement out of an abundance of caution.

Brady injured his right ring finger in the Bucks’ 20-10 win at the New Orleans Saints last week, but practiced throughout Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“He’s ready to go, he’s in full training,” coach Todd Bowles said Friday. “He took every throw.”

Brady downplayed it when asked about the injury Thursday, though he shook his right hand several times during practice. While making a video tutorial on how to make butter ice cream for his TB12 brand, he pretended to cut his finger.

“Great. I feel great,” Brady said Thursday. “It’s football season, so…”
