Florida State opened some eyes with a Labor Day weekend win over LSU in New Orleans.

Off to a 3-0 start since 2015, the Seminoles are building momentum — both on the field and on the recruiting trail.

Highly-regarded wide receiver Hykeem Williams has certainly noticed, proving it by staying home by visiting Florida State on Friday.

Williams, from Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is ranked No. 22 in the 2023 ESPN 300. Graded as the third-best receiver in the class, Williams became Mike Norvell’s top-ranked offensive player in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Williams played for the Seminoles at Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M and Pittsburgh. He is the seventh ESPN 300 prospect to join Florida State’s class, which is ranked No. 25 in ESPN’s latest class rankings.

Williams is the first ESPN 300 wide receiver to sign with the Seminoles in 2021 since Destin Hill (No. 14 WR and No. 89) and Malik McClain (46 WR and No. 261 overall).

Williams is the highest-ranked receiver to commit to Florida State since DJ Matthews (7 WR and No. 53 overall) in 2017. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Williams hauled in 30 passes for 750 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior for Stranahan in 2021.
