EA Sports has revealed FIFA 23 ratings for the top women’s soccer players added to the game as part of an effort to improve the integration of women’s club and national teams into the franchise.

The top 25 women’s players in FIFA 23 have been announced, with all the familiar names like Vivian Miedema (89), Sam Kerr (91) and Alex Morgan (90) as well as past Ballon d’Or Feminine winner Ada Hegerberg (91). ), Megan Rapinoe and Alexia Butellas (92). The top 10 has been revamped to take into account the stars who rose to prominence at this summer’s Euros, players who peaked and made a name for themselves.

Many top female stars will be represented in-game with full authentic head scans, meaning fans of England’s WSL and France’s D1 Feminine in particular will be able to fully immerse themselves in the experience. EA has also confirmed that head scans for the World Cup 2023 player raft will continue in the form of a post-launch update.

Examining the FIFA 23 roster and comparing it to the top tier of women’s rankings used in both FIFA 21 and FIFA 22, here are our picks ahead of the game’s release on September 30.

Putellas is enjoying a meteoric rise

2021 Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Butellas has seen a dramatic rise in his FIFA rating to match his real-world prominence, with the Spain and Barcelona star topping FIFA 23 with a rating of 92, previously failing. To top 10 in both FIFA 21 and 22.

The highly-skilled midfielder captained Barca to an unblemished, record-breaking quadruple in 2021-22 and has cemented his place as one of the greatest, most influential players of all time.

Medima takes a dump

Along with Lucie Brons (90) and Wendy Renard (91), Netherlands international forward Meedema was the joint-highest rated player in FIFA 22 with a strong rating of 92. However, the Arsenal star has dropped his rating in FIFA 23 to 89. This kept her stuck in the top 10 as many of her contemporaries overtook her in the space of a year.

New names above

Indeed, Miedema’s dramatic decline in rankings can be attributed to the arrival of new stars such as Butellas, Hegerberg, Marie-Antoinette Gatto (90), Caroline Graham Hansen (90) and Christian Endler (90). 89) Everyone who finished in the top 10 even if they didn’t feature in FIFA 22.

Barcelona and French sides Lyon and PSG offer these breakthrough players, reflecting their strong performances in European competition last season.

USWNT losing their grip

A changing of the guard in women’s soccer has exacerbated the decline of several well-established names such as USWNT stalwarts Morgan and Robineau.

Despite being a top 10 mainstay in both FIFA 21 and 22, Morgan, the only American women’s player included in the top 25 for FIFA 23, entered the twilight of their careers at 33 and 37, respectively, while Robineau dropped out of the running.

England stars rewarded for Euro 2022 success

Bronze remains in the top 10 as European champions England join Miedema as the highest-rated player in FIFA 22.

Lions teammate Beth Mead sits in 11th place with 88 (no doubt a result of being crowned UEFA player of the tournament at Euro 2022), while fellow England stars Lauren Hemp (87) and Millie Bright (87) are also included in the top 25.
